Yoga Instructor

As a Yoga Instructor, your primary responsibility will be teaching and guiding yoga classes for students of varying skill levels, ranging from beginners to advanced practitioners. You will design and lead yoga sessions, demonstrating proper alignment and technique for different asanas (poses). Additionally, you will offer modifications and adjustments to accommodate injuries, limitations, or varying abilities. Your role will also involve leading meditation, breathing exercises (pranayama), and relaxation techniques to help students achieve holistic wellness. Ensuring the safety of students is paramount in your role. You will monitor students during classes to prevent injuries and provide physical adjustments only with their consent. Creating a safe, clean, and inclusive environment where all individuals feel welcome and supported is essential. You should be knowledgeable about contraindications and provide appropriate guidance to students based on their individual needs. In terms of planning and preparation, you will be required to carefully curate class sequences and themes in advance. Staying updated with the latest yoga trends and engaging in continuing education to enhance your knowledge of anatomy, philosophy, and the history of yoga is crucial for delivering high-quality sessions. Effective communication and motivation are key aspects of your job. You will need to provide clear instructions and encouraging feedback to students, fostering a supportive learning environment. Building rapport with students to understand their goals and needs will help you tailor your classes accordingly. Promoting mindfulness, wellness, and positive lifestyle habits among your students is also part of your role. Maintaining professionalism and ethical standards is vital. You are expected to be punctual, maintain a professional demeanor, and uphold student confidentiality and boundaries. Adhering to the ethical guidelines of yoga, such as Yamas and Niyamas, if philosophically aligned, is essential. Depending on the requirements, you may also have administrative duties, such as promoting classes through marketing or social media and keeping records of attendance and client progress. Lastly, personal practice and growth are encouraged to enhance your skills as a Yoga Instructor. This is a full-time position with benefits including Provident Fund.
