Note: This internship role is only applicable for Students who are in their 1st and 2nd years.

This is a fully remote WordPress Developer Intern role based in India—ideal for a motivated developer ready to gain hands-on experience building real client projects, learning best practices, and contributing to production sites under mentorship.Role & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers and developers to build, customise, and launch WordPress themes and child-themes following design specifications.
• Implement responsive HTML/CSS and JavaScript for cross-device compatibility and pixel-accurate layouts.
• Support plugin configuration and lightweight custom plugin development using best-practice WordPress hooks, shortcodes, and template hierarchy.
• Assist in setting up WooCommerce stores, product pages, and basic payment/shipping integrations.
• Perform site testing, debugging, and basic performance optimisations (image optimisation, caching, minification) and ensure accessibility standards where applicable.
• Maintain code in Git repositories, document changes, and follow tickets/issue workflows under mentor guidance.
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Hands-on familiarity with WordPress CMS: installing themes/plugins, configuring menus, widgets, and basic settings.
• Good working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 (Flexbox/Grid) and JavaScript/jQuery.
• Basic PHP understanding and ability to work with WordPress templates, functions.php, and simple hooks.
  

Preferred

• Experience with Gutenberg block development or major page-builders (Elementor, WPBakery) and WooCommerce setup.
• Exposure to Git, REST API (WP-JSON), and simple performance/SEO optimisation techniques.
• Previous internship or project work building live WordPress sites; portfolio or GitHub links are a strong plus.
