This remote internship offers hands-on exposure to production Shopify theme work, app integrations, and performance optimization for live stores.
Primary Job Title:
Shopify Developer InternJoin Webriy as a remote Shopify Developer Intern to work directly with senior engineers and designers on real client stores—shipping theme features, improving UX, and integrating APIs to drive revenue and retention.Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to implement pixel-perfect templates and reusable sections.
- Build responsive, mobile-first storefront components and optimize assets for performance and Core Web Vitals.
- Integrate third-party Shopify apps and APIs (REST/GraphQL) to extend storefront and admin functionality.
- Collaborate with designers and product leads to translate UI/UX designs into accessible, maintainable code.
- Follow Git workflows, write clear commits, and assist in QA, cross‑browser testing, and deployment for store launches.
- Troubleshoot bugs, produce documentation, and learn best practices for Shopify development under mentor guidance.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Working knowledge of Shopify Liquid and experience editing theme files or course/work project work on Shopify stores.
- Strong HTML5, CSS3 (including Flexbox/Grid) and JavaScript fundamentals (ES6+).
- Portfolio or GitHub with sample storefronts, components, or theme customizations.
- Familiarity with responsive design, cross‑browser testing, and front-end performance basics.
- Comfortable with Git-based workflows and communicating clearly in a remote team.
Preferred
- Experience with Shopify CLI/Theme Kit, Polaris components, or Hydrogen/React for headless storefronts.
- Understanding of Shopify Admin APIs (REST or GraphQL), metafields, and app integrations.
- Prior exposure to e‑commerce SEO, analytics tracking, and conversion optimization techniques.
