About the Role

WordPress Backend Developer

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize

    custom WordPress plugins and themes

    to support marketing and product initiatives.

  • Hands on experience of

    Advanced Custom Fields plugin


  • Manage website

    infrastructure, database architecture, and server-side performance

    for high-traffic enterprise use.

  • Implement and maintain

    APIs, third-party integrations, and headless WordPress setups

    .

  • Ensure

    website security, compliance, and uptime monitoring

    .

  • Optimize site speed and performance with

    advanced caching strategies (Redis, Memcached, CDN)

    .

  • Collaborate with

    marketing, design, and SEO teams

    to implement new landing pages, tracking, and analytics.

  • Conduct regular

    site audits, debugging, and performance troubleshooting

    .

  • Maintain proper

    documentation, Git workflows, and CI/CD deployment pipelines

    .

    • Requirements

    • Proven experience as a

      Backend Developer for large-scale WordPress websites

      .

    • Strong proficiency in

      PHP, MySQL, WordPress core, and custom plugin development

      .

    • Experience with

      REST API, and headless CMS integrations

      .

    • Deep knowledge of

      website security best practices

      (firewalls, SSL, vulnerability testing).

    • Expertise in

      performance optimization

      and handling enterprise-level traffic.

    • Familiarity with

      SEO-friendly architecture and analytics tools.


    • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

    • Nice-to-Have

    • Exposure to

      frontend frameworks (React, Next.js, Vue.js)

      for headless WordPress.
