Job Description

Senior Associate Legal & Statutory Compliances

Key Responsibilities:

Statutory & Labour Law Compliance

  • Ensure end-to-end compliance with applicable Indian labour laws:
    • Shops & Establishments Act, CLRA, PF, ESIC, PT, Minimum Wages, Payment of Wages, Employment Exchange Act, POSH, etc.
  • Manage compliance lifecycle:
    • Registrations, renewals, return filings, challan generation, and statutory register maintenance.
  • Handle labour inspections, draft responses to notices, and coordinate closure through internal and external partners.
  • Ensure the timely completion and filing of statutory compliance returns/ challans.
  • Conduct internal audits of compliance processes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Track legal updates in central and state labour laws and disseminate compliance changes internally.
  • Update the management regarding changes in Labour Laws of respective locations
  • Supporting in maintaining statutory compliance documents for internal and external audits.
  • Coordinate with compliance partner for closure of compliance notices issued by government department.
  • Time to time Minimum wages updating as per the respective state notification.
  • Collecting Statutory data from Regional teams and co-ordinating with the compliance partner.
  • Coordinating the activities of the HR Team to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, policies, regulations and employee documentation as per the statutory law.
  • Assisting employees to obtain all possible benefits under ESI, EPF & EPS.

Legal Advisory & Contracts

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and technology contracts, including: SaaS Agreements, Master Service Agreements, Professional Services Agreements, Licensing Agreements, Vendor Agreements.
  • Advise internal stakeholders (HR, Finance, Operations, IT) on Labour and employment law matters, data protection, intellectual property, contract risks.
  • Maintain, update, and improve legal document templates and risk assessment processes.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s in law

    from a reputed Indian University. LLM in Technology Law / Labour Law is a plus.
  • 5-7 years of post-qualification experience:
  • In a law firm or in-house legal department, with exposure to technology contracts and labour compliance.
  • Hands-on experience managing statutory compliance in multi-state locations is essential.

Key Skills

  • Excellent understanding of Indian labour laws, corporate and technology law.
  • Proficiency in handling PF/ESIC/CLRA/Minimum wages compliance.
  • Strong contract drafting, legal research, and negotiation skills.
  • Business acumen with ability to explain legal risks in simple terms to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
