VP Environment Sustainability

Location:

Chennai/Mumbai

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven leader to head our Environment and Sustainability division, with full Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability. This role requires a visionary professional to lead a dynamic team of experts while driving key projects in environmental regulatory compliance, integrated water management, climate and sustainability disclosures (BRSR, GRI, CDP, TCFD), environmental due diligence, and site assessment. Additionally, the role involves spearheading specialized studies such as air quality, noise, groundwater (GW) modeling, and integrating circularity into business practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & P&L Management:

Own and manage the P&L for the Sustainability & Environment division.

Develop and execute business strategies that align with company objectives and drive profitability.

Lead business development efforts, identifying growth opportunities and expanding service offerings.

Team Leadership:

Head a multidisciplinary team of environmental and sustainability experts.

Mentor and motivate team members to achieve excellence in project delivery and innovation.

Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Project Delivery:

Oversee projects related to Environmental Regulatory Compliance, Integrated Water Management, Climate & Sustainability Disclosures and Environmental Due Diligence.

Ensure on-time and high-quality delivery of client projects, meeting regulatory and sustainability requirements.

Specialized Studies & Innovation:

Lead specialized studies, including Air Quality, Noise, Groundwater (GW) Modelling, and Circular Economy integration.

Champion innovative sustainability solutions that integrate circularity into business operations.

Client Engagement:

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.

Serve as a trusted advisor on sustainability and environmental matters.

Regulatory & Industry Leadership:

Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental laws and regulations.

Represent the company at industry events, forums, and conferences, positioning it as a leader in sustainability consulting.

Reporting & Stakeholder Communication

Provide periodic updates on team performance, project progress, and financial metrics to senior management and stakeholders.

Develop and present sustainability performance and impact reports.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.

At least 10–15 years of experience in sustainability leadership roles, preferably in a consulting environment.

Proven track record of P&L management and business development.

Strong expertise in environmental compliance, sustainability disclosures, and specialized studies.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to innovate and integrate sustainability into core business strategies.
