Job Description

About the Role:

VMware Administrator


Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and troubleshoot VMware ESXi 7.0/8.0 environments
  • Manage and maintain VCF patching and compliance deployments
  • Perform OS patch release management and maintain central ESX OS image configurations
  • Conduct performance tuning of VMware servers and virtual sessions
  • Handle backup and recovery of virtual machines and servers
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to hardware, operating systems, and virtualization layers
  • Utilize and mange tools like vRealize Operations (VRops) and vRealize Log Insight (VRli) for monitoring and analytics
  • Support VSAN technologies and ensure optimal storage performance
  • Collaborate on problem management and root cause analysis for VMware ESX platforms
  • Ensure compliance with ISO and PCI standards


Technical Skills


Primary Skills:

  • VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), Sphere, Hyper-V
  • NSX, VSAN, VRops, VRli
  • Intermediate knowledge of switching and network virtualization
  • Strong troubleshooting and system administration capabilities


Secondary Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Windows and Linux Server administration
  • Installation, configuration, and basic troubleshooting of Linux and Windows OS
  • OS update and patch management


Certifications & Compliance:

Mandatory

Preferred

Basic understanding of ISO and PCI compliance frameworks


Preferred Attributes:
