Vice President - Solution Architect

As a Vice President - Solution Architect at Barclays, you will be leading the evolution of the Digital Platform Engineering function, with a focus on Mobile Development and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). Your role will involve providing technical leadership and strategic guidance to cross-functional engineering teams, shaping Barclays" mobile application portfolio (including React Native and native iOS/Android) and AEM platforms. Collaboration with senior stakeholders, product managers, designers, and engineering leaders will be crucial to drive innovation, performance, and long-term growth. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the development and enhancement of software solutions using various engineering methodologies - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements - Promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing - Stay updated on industry technology trends - Ensure secure coding practices and implement effective unit testing practices Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field - Progressive experience in software engineering, especially in delivering large-scale mobile applications and digital platforms - Proficiency in React Native, native iOS (Swift/Objective-C), native Android (Java/Kotlin), and mobile CI/CD tools - Deep understanding of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud services (AWS/Azure) - Demonstrable leadership skills, excellent communication, negotiation abilities, and stakeholder management skills - Experience in financial services or regulated environments is advantageous - Familiarity with compliance and security standards relevant to enterprise software deployments - Working experience with large volumes of data in the financial services domain is a plus As a Vice President, you will play a vital role in setting strategy, driving requirements, planning resources, managing policies/processes, delivering continuous improvements, and mitigating risks.
