As an Application Security Engineer at TELUS Digital, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security standards and practices for application platforms in both on-premises and AWS environments. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with technical teams to define, improve, and document procedures to meet compliance requirements. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential as you will be required to communicate with technical teams, senior leaders, and various stakeholders. In this role, you will be expected to possess a strong knowledge of security standards and practices, including certifications such as CCSP, CISSP, or other cloud-focused application security certifications. Familiarity with Data Center and AWS infrastructure, as well as experience in ITIL operations and agile development practices, will be beneficial. An ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in software engineering, cybersecurity, or cyber-audit. To be successful in this position, you must be diligent in tracking and following up on action items, possess the ability to analyze and validate findings, and have experience working in a DevSecOps culture. Your role will involve clearly defining and developing new policies, processes, and best practices, collaborating with technical teams to improve observability, and reviewing risk findings to drive remediation efforts.
