Job Title: Utilities Engineer – Cooling Systems 📍 Location: Vadodara, Gujarat 🏭 Industry: Edible Oil Manufacturing (Refining & Dewaxing) 🕒 Employment Type: Full-time 💼 Experience Required: Minimum 3 years in industrial utilities or process cooling systems 💰 Salary: ₹3.5 – ₹4.0 Lakhs per annum (based on experience & skills) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Utilities Engineer to oversee and maintain all cooling-related systems at our edible oil processing plant in Vadodara. The role involves managing chillers (used in dewaxing operations) and cooling towers , with a strong focus on operational efficiency, preventive maintenance, and water treatment to address scaling and hard water issues . Key Responsibilities 🔧 Chiller System Oversight Operate and maintain industrial chillers (brine/glycol-based) used for dewaxing corn and other edible oils. Ensure accurate temperature control for efficient crystallization and dewaxing performance. Perform cleaning and descaling of chillers to prevent hard water scaling and improve heat exchange efficiency. Oversee treatment of hard water used in the cooling circuits to avoid scale buildup and equipment corrosion. 🌬 Cooling Tower Management Supervise daily operations, periodic cleaning, and chemical dosing of cooling towers. Monitor and manage water quality (pH, hardness, TDS) and biofilm control in circulating systems. 🛠 Maintenance & Troubleshooting Implement preventive and predictive maintenance for chillers, pumps, compressors, and cooling equipment. Quickly troubleshoot breakdowns and coordinate repairs to minimize production downtime. ⚙️ Utility Optimization Optimize energy use across cooling utilities, monitoring COP (Coefficient of Performance), load balancing, and coolant levels. Suggest improvements to reduce power consumption and water wastage. 📋 Documentation & Compliance Maintain detailed records of service history, water treatment logs, and maintenance schedules. Ensure compliance with food-grade utility standards, including FSSAI, ISO 22000, and factory hygiene protocols. 🤝 Vendor Coordination Liaise with OEMs and water treatment service providers for maintenance, AMC, and technical upgrades. Procure spares, monitor inventory, and maintain cost-effective operations. Candidate Requirements ✅ Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering , Industrial Engineering , or related discipline ✅ Minimum 3 years of experience managing chillers and cooling towers , preferably in edible oil, food, or chemical industries ✅ Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems , cooling water treatment , and scale prevention techniques ✅ Experience with descaling and handling hard water problems in industrial cooling systems ✅ Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning , troubleshooting, and safety standards ✅ Basic understanding of automation systems, PLCs, and SCADA (preferred) ✅ Ability to manage a team of technicians and schedule maintenance activities effectively Show more Show less
