Role Summary
We are seeking a International Operations Manager with 10+ years of experience in handling end-to-end international group operations across the US, UK, Europe, Schengen countries, and other educational travel destinations. The ideal candidate will bring strong vendor and DMC networks, hands-on group management experience, and expertise in designing itineraries and costings while ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End International Operations
- Oversee and manage all aspects of international group movements from planning to execution.
- Handle pre-departure briefings, documentation, visa coordination, and travel logistics.
- Lead on-ground group management internationally, ensuring safety, learning outcomes, and smooth delivery of the program.
- Manage group emergencies, escalations, and real-time problem-solving during tours.
Vendor & DMC Management
- Develop, maintain, and strengthen DMC and supplier partnerships across US, UK, Europe, and other regions.
- Negotiate cost-effective packages while maintaining EdTerra’s quality standards.
- Ensure regular vendor performance audits.
Itinerary Planning & Costing
- Design customized educational travel itineraries aligned with learning objectives and group needs.
- Prepare accurate costing sheets, analyze price fluctuations, and maintain profitability.
- Identify new destinations and program enhancements.
Team Management
- Lead and mentor a team of junior operations managers and travel coordinators.
- Train team members on best practices for international group handling.
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with sales and academics teams to align operational feasibility with program design.
- Maintain strong relationships with schools, parents, and internal stakeholders for seamless program delivery.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to EdTerra’s international travel SOPs and safety protocols.
- Stay updated on visa policies, country-specific travel regulations, and international insurance processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Travel, Hospitality, Management, or related fields.
- 10+ years of experience in international operations, handling group tours to the US, UK, Europe, and Schengen regions.
- Extensive travel experience and on-ground group management internationally.
- Strong network and experience with reliable DMCs and suppliers across key destinations.
- Proficiency in designing itineraries and preparing costings with attention to detail.
- Team management and leadership experience.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to travel internationally as required.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
