Type Certification & Flight Control Systems Engineer (UAV/Drone)

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Type Certification & Flight Control Systems Engineer to support the certification, integration, and compliance of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of drone type certification processes in accordance with DGCA and Quality Council of India (QCI) requirements, along with strong hands-on experience in flight controllers and Ground Control Stations (GCS).

This role requires a thorough understanding of Clauses 2, 6, 7, 8, and 9 of the Type Certification Scheme, along with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure regulatory compliance, airworthiness, and safety standards throughout the certification lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

-Support and manage the Type Certification process for UAS in compliance with DGCA and QCI guidelines.

-Interpret, implement, and ensure compliance with Clauses 2, 6, 7, 8, and 9 of the Type Certification Scheme.

-Configure, calibrate, tune, and integrate flight controllers such as K++, Ag++, and VKV9.

-Operate, configure, and troubleshoot Ground Control Stations (GCS) including AeroGCS Green, AGS, and QGCS.

-Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including test plans, compliance matrices, validation reports, and certification dossiers.

-Collaborate closely with design, testing, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure adherence to certification and airworthiness standards.

-Conduct pre-certification testing, data logging, system validation, and performance analysis to meet safety and regulatory requirements.

-Act as a liaison with certification authorities, ensuring smooth coordination and timely compliance throughout the certification lifecycle.

-Stay up to date with evolving DGCA regulations, UAV standards, and certification frameworks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.

-Proven experience in UAV/drone system integration, testing, or certification activities.

-Hands-on expertise with flight controllers (K++, Ag++, VKV9) and GCS platforms (AeroGCS Green, AGS, QGCS).

-Strong understanding of Type Certification Scheme Clauses 2, 6, 7, 8, and 9, including applicability, documentation, airworthiness, performance testing, and safety requirements.

-Familiarity with DGCA, QCI, or equivalent national/international aviation certification bodies.

-Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

-Experience in autopilot configuration, flight testing, and flight data analysis.

-Exposure to UAV system architecture, payload integration, and communication protocols.

-Knowledge of DGCA RPAS regulations or equivalent international UAV certification standards.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹95,000.00 per month
