Job Description

Shaanthi Schools is looking for Transport Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of all school transport services. This includes planning and coordinating school bus routes, managing drivers and vehicles, ensuring full compliance with transport regulations, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and care for pupils during transport.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee daily school bus routes, ensuring punctual and safe transportation of pupils and staff.
• Allocate vehicles and drivers according to school timetables, extracurricular activities, and special trips.
• Manage transport arrangements for school events, and educational visits.
• Monitor and improve the efficiency of routes and schedules to reduce costs and travel times.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transport laws and regulations, including safeguarding, driver licensing, vehicle maintenance, and operating permits.
• Maintain up-to-date records for vehicles, drivers, insurance, MOT, and service schedules.
• Conduct regular vehicle and safety inspections.
• Develop and implement policies for the safe transport of pupils, including emergency procedures and safeguarding guidelines.
• Investigate and report any incidents or accidents involving school vehicles.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience in transport management, ideally within a school, education, or passenger transport environment.
• Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) for Passenger Transport (preferred).
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
• Good knowledge of transport legislation, driver regulations, and health & safety standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹380,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Pollachi, Tamil Nadu: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
