Key Responsibilities: Supervise and manage daily transportation activities, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries. Oversee fleet operations, including vehicle maintenance, insurance, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Manage drivers and ground staff, including scheduling, performance monitoring, and addressing operational issues. Coordinate vehicle arrangements for loading and unloading activities, optimizing route planning. Track and analyze transportation costs to identify cost-saving opportunities. Maintain strong communication with internal teams, vendors, and customers to ensure smooth logistics operations. Ensure all transportation activities comply with legal, regulatory, and safety requirements. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager (Freight Forwarding Industry only) to join our team in Bangalore . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight forwarding Sales , with proven expertise in client acquisition, relationship management, and market development . You will play a pivotal role in identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and driving revenue growth. Key Responsibilities Identify, pursue, and convert potential new clients to increase business opportunities. Conduct cold calls and generate a robust pipeline of qualified leads within the assigned territory. Achieve assigned annual sales budget and bring in at least 24 new customers per year . Build, maintain, and leverage a strong professional network to meet potential clients. Conduct thorough research and build strategic relationships with prospective clients. Organize meetings between clients and Regional Sales Managers / Regional Directors. Participate in pricing discussions and present tailored logistics solutions to clients. Promote new products/services and strengthen existing customer relationships. Collaborate with technical and operations teams to meet customer requirements. Identify opportunities for campaigns, new services, and distribution strategies. Maintain up-to-date and accurate records in the CRM system : Log daily calls and updates. Maintain at least 50 opportunities in CRM. Ensure CRM data meets internal compliance standards. Manage full sales cycle, including proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and review. Ensure smooth client transition to operations within 7 days of CPSA being signed. Analyze client performance in terms of gross margin, volume, and profitability. Qualifications & Skills Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Proven experience in Business Development or Sales within the freight forwarding/logistics industry . Strong understanding of market research, lead generation, and business strategy . Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to close deals and manage long-term client relationships. Proficient in preparing business proposals and managing commercial contracts. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
