Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport Operations Management
  • Plan and monitor daily transport schedules for students and staff.
  • Allocate buses to designated routes and ensure punctuality.
  • Coordinate pick-up and drop-off points to ensure student safety and convenience.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all vehicles comply with RTO and CBSE/education board transport guidelines.
  • Regularly check vehicle fitness, insurance, permits, and pollution certificates.
  • Conduct safety drills and educate students about bus safety rules.
  • Staff Management
  • Supervise drivers and attendants; ensure proper grooming, behavior, and discipline.
  • Maintain duty rosters, attendance, and performance of transport staff.
  • Conduct regular training sessions on safety and emergency procedures.
  • Maintenance & Monitoring
  • Ensure timely servicing and maintenance of buses.
  • Maintain fuel records, mileage tracking, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Handle breakdowns and arrange immediate alternate transport when required.
  • Communication & Coordination
  • Act as a link between parents, students, and school management regarding transport-related concerns.
  • Address grievances promptly and maintain good parent relations.
  • Coordinate with the admin department for approvals and budget requirements.
  • Record Keeping & Reporting
  • Maintain updated transport records (student transport data, vehicle documents, driver licenses, etc.).
  • Generate reports on transport efficiency, expenses, and issues.
  • Assist in route planning to optimize time, distance, and fuel efficiency.

  • Strong organizational and managerial skills.
  • Good knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Tech-savvy with basic knowledge of GPS tracking systems.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Graduate in any discipline (preferred: Administration/Logistics/Management).
  • 3–5 years of experience in transport/logistics management (preferably in an educational institution).
  • Knowledge of local traffic rules and RTO guidelines.
