Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Civil Engineer to join our engineering and construction team. This role offers hands-on experience in the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate is a recent graduate or final-year student in Civil Engineering, eager to learn and contribute to real-world construction and infrastructure development projects.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Assist in site supervision and monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with design, safety, and quality standards.
• Support in preparing and reviewing drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Participate in surveying, leveling, and data collection on-site as required.
• Help prepare daily progress reports, documentation, and reports for project tracking.
• Coordinate with contractors, site workers, and other engineers to ensure smooth workflow.
• Monitor the usage of materials and ensure minimum wastage on-site.
• Assist in estimating materials, quantities, and costs for specific project sections.
• Learn and apply relevant local building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Perform quality checks and report any non-conformities to supervisors.
• Maintain safe working practices in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Basic Functions:

• Act as a support role to senior engineers in project execution.
• Gain practical exposure to civil engineering tasks such as drafting, measurement, estimation, and supervision.
• Shadow experienced professionals to understand project life cycles from planning to handover.
• Develop understanding in the use of civil engineering software/tools (e.g., AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, MS Project).

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering (final-year students may also apply for internships).
• Basic knowledge of civil engineering principles, materials, and construction methods.
• Familiarity with engineering design software like AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work on construction sites and travel to project locations if required.

Preferred:

• Internship or practical experience in construction projects (optional but desirable).
• Knowledge of safety regulations and quality assurance in construction.
