Tool Room Supervisor

Job Description:

To lead and manage the tool room operations for manufacturing, maintenance, and improvement of mould bases and tooling components, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and adherence to technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day activities of the tool room, ensuring smooth operation and workflow.
• Plan and allocate jobs for toolmakers, machinists, and fitters as per production schedules.
• Supervise the manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance of mould bases, inserts, and components.
• Ensure the proper use and maintenance of tool room machines such as:
• Milling Machines (Conventional & CNC)
• Surface Grinder
• EDM, Wire Cut Machines
• Lathe Machines
• VMC / CNC Machines
• Drilling Machines
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and tool designs accurately.
• Implement quality checks at each stage of machining and assembly.
• Coordinate with the QC team to resolve quality issues.
• Control inventory of raw materials, tools, and consumables for the tool room.
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules of all tool room equipment.
• Guide and train the tool room team to improve their technical skills.
• Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.
• Liaise with the design team for technical feasibility and tooling improvements.
• Drive continuous improvements in tooling processes to increase efficiency and reduce lead times.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

• Strong technical knowledge of mould base manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in precision machining processes.
• Proficient in reading technical drawings and tolerances.
• Knowledge of tool steels, machining parameters, and heat treatment processes.
• Familiarity with measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Height Gauge, Dial Indicators, etc.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Leadership and team management abilities.
• Basic understanding of CAD/CAM software is preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
