Tool Room Manager

Job Purpose:

To manage the entire tool room operations, ensuring timely manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, and quality of mould bases and die components. The role involves team leadership, process improvement, and effective resource management.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Tool Room Management:

• Plan, supervise, and control mould base production and assembly activities in the tool room.
• Allocate manpower and machine resources to meet daily and monthly production targets.
• Ensure on-time delivery of mould bases as per customer requirements.

✅ Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor a team of machinists, fitters, CNC/VMC operators, and die fitters.
• Assign work, monitor performance, and ensure training for skill enhancement.

✅ Machine & Process Management:

• Ensure optimal utilization of tool room machines such as Milling, Grinding, VMC, CNC, Drilling, and EDM.
• Oversee maintenance and upkeep of machines and tools.
• Implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce rework.

✅ Quality Control & Inspection:

• Work closely with the QC team to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish of mould bases.
• Ensure adherence to drawing tolerances and customer specifications.

✅ Planning & Coordination:

• Coordinate with the Production, QC, and Purchase teams for smooth workflow.
• Maintain inventory of tools, jigs, and raw materials required in the tool room.

✅ Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain daily production reports, downtime analysis, and project completion records.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives like 5S, Kaizen, and Lean practices.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of mould base manufacturing, machining processes, and assembly.
• Hands-on expertise in Milling, Grinding, VMC, and conventional machines.
• Sound understanding of tolerances, fits, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Leadership and team management abilities.
• Good problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and using measurement instruments.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical / Tool & Die / Production Engineering.
• 8 to 12+ years of experience in tool room operations, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory/managerial role.
• Experience in mould base or die manufacturing is mandatory.
• Knowledge of production planning and ERP systems is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
