Technical Writer

Key Responsibilities

Documentation & Content Creation

• Write and maintain high-quality documentation including:
• User guides
• API documentation
• Developer guides
• Release notes
• Process documents
• Technical specifications
• Product manuals
• Transform complex technical concepts into

  simple, structured, and readable

  content.

Collaboration

• Work closely with product managers, software engineers, QA, design, and support teams to gather information.
• Participate in product discussions and understand workflows, architecture, and feature functionalities.
• Interview SMEs (subject matter experts) and extract detailed technical insights.

Content Standards & Quality

• Define and maintain content structure, style guides, templates, and formatting standards.
• Ensure documentation is:
• Technically accurate
• Consistent in tone and terminology
• Up-to-date with each release
• Review and edit content created by internal teams.

Tools & Technology

• Use documentation tools such as:
• Confluence, Notion, SharePoint
• Markdown, HTML
• Git/GitHub/GitLab for version control
• Swagger / Postman for API understanding
• Diagramming tools (Lucidchart, Draw.io, Visio)
• Organize and maintain a scalable documentation repository.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify gaps in existing documentation and proactively fix them.
• Improve information architecture for better usability and searchability.
• Contribute to internal knowledge bases and training material.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of software development, APIs, cloud concepts, and DevOps fundamentals.
• Ability to read and understand code snippets (Java, JavaScript, Python preferred—but not mandatory).
• Familiarity with SDLC, Agile methodologies, and release processes.
• Experience writing for technical audiences such as developers or system architects.

Writing & Communication Skills

• Excellent command of English with strong grammar, clarity, and structure.
• Ability to simplify deep technical content without losing accuracy.
• Strong visualization skills to create diagrams, flowcharts, and architecture visuals.

Professional Skills

• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling multiple documents simultaneously.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
• Proactive approach to information gathering and documentation ownership.
