The Technical Project Manager plays a pivotal role in leading next-generation software rewrites using
agentic AI
and GenAI-assisted development
. This is not a conventional project management role our methodology is new, evolving, and will redefine how enterprise software is rebuilt. The TPM will help shape the metrics, methods, and practices that guide this transformation, balancing disciplined delivery with innovation and experimentation.
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead AI-Accelerated Rewrites:
Manage projects that modernize legacy applications into cloud-native, SaaS-based architectures using AI across all phases Pre-Work, Rewrite, and Deployment. -
Shape a New Methodology:
Partner with engineering, product, and AI specialists to co-create and refine the agentic rewrite methodology
, establishing controls and metrics for GenAI-driven design, coding, and migration. -
Drive Measurable Innovation:
Define and evolve metrics of success (efficiency, accuracy, and reusability) in environments where benchmarks are still forming. -
Orchestrate AI + Human Collaboration:
Coordinate teams that include AI agents, developers, and product owners ensuring optimal task allocation, feedback loops, and process transparency. -
Manage Complexity and Ambiguity:
Operate effectively without fully defined playbooks, designing governance structures that flex as the methodology matures. -
Enable Scalable Replication:
Document and systematize learning from each rewrite cycle, contributing to the development of a repeatable, high-efficiency rewrite factory model. -
Stakeholder Management:
Bridge the gap between AI engineering teams, OpCo stakeholders, and executives translating experimental outcomes into tangible business and technical insights. -
Risk and Quality Oversight:
Identify, assess, and mitigate emerging risks inherent in AI-assisted software generation (e.g., quality assurance, data leakage, or model drift).
Required Experience:
- 10+ years in
technical project or program management
delivering complex software transformations. - Certifications in Agile, Scrum, or AI/ML technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning, PMI-ACP).
- Incessant curiosity and drive to learn about new technologies that are on the bleeding edge, with a passion for continuous personal and professional growth.
- Demonstrated ability to
lead projects with emerging technologies
or evolving delivery frameworks. - Experience defining or iterating
technical processes and success metrics
in ambiguous or experimental environments. - High technical fluency in
AI/ML
, generative AI
, or automation tools
; understanding how AI can augment or accelerate development workflows and use of AI in the project management discipline. - Exceptional
cross-functional communication
and influence able to manage teams that blend human engineers and AI systems. - Exceptional
stakeholder management capabilities
, able to manage executives in technology areas unfamiliar to them
Must-haves:
- Experience managing
AI-driven modernization or replatforming initiatives
(e.g., translating monoliths into microservices). - Strong familiarity with cloud-native architectures (Azure preferred) and modern software development practices (microservices, CI/CD, observability).
- Knowledge of agentic AI architectures, generative AI, and responsible AI practices.
- Familiarity with cloud-native AI platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps frameworks.
- Familiarity with data privacy, security, and compliance requirements
- Comfortable operating in a team tasked with achieving moon shots ambitious, transformational goals that push the boundaries of what s possible.
- Cross-industry, small business and digital transformation experience
Mindset and Attributes
-
Inventive and adaptive:
Thrives in shaping frameworks where none yet exist. -
System thinker:
Understands that process, technology, and human collaboration must evolve together. -
AI-native:
Sees AI as a collaborator, not a tool. -
Builder of repeatability:
Extracts insights from each project cycle to improve the next. -
Driven by impact: Keeps customer experience and operational scalability as the north stars.
