Job Description

hands-on Golang Tech Lead


Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership:

  • Architect and implement microservices and RESTful/gRPC APIs in Go.
  • Enforce TDD best practices—write and review unit, integration, and performance tests.
  • Conduct regular code reviews; establish and uphold coding standards.


Collaboration & Delivery:

  • Work with product managers to translate requirements into technical stories.
  • Partner with frontend, DevOps, and QA teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and deployments.
  • Monitor production services, troubleshoot incidents, and drive post-mortem analyses.


Mentorship & Growth:

  • Coach junior and mid-level developers through pairing, brown-bag sessions, and technical workshops.
  • Stay abreast of emerging backend technologies; identify opportunities to introduce new tools or patterns.


Must-Have Skills & Experience


  • Backend Development:

     6+ years overall; 4+ years hands-on with Go (Golang).

  • API & Microservices:

     Proven experience building scalable, secure RESTful and microservices architectures.

  • Databases:

     Strong SQL/NoSQL skills (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).

  • TDD Expertise:

     Demonstrable track record of Test-Case Driven Development in Go.

  • DevOps & CI/CD:

     Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions/Jenkins/GitLab CI, and Infrastructure as Code.

  • Cloud Platforms:

     Practical experience on AWS, GCP, or Azure.

  • Messaging & Eventing:

     Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, gRPC, or GraphQL.

  • Collaboration:

     Agile methodologies, JIRA/Trello, and strong version-control discipline.

  • Soft Skills:

     Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team-building abilities.
