Job Role: Tech Cyber Security Engineer – Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

Location: Pune (Hybrid)

Experience: 2–4 Years


Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Cyber Security Engineer – DLP with 2–4 years of experience in cybersecurity and a strong engineering/development background. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policy engineering and the ability to design, implement, and fine-tune solutions that ensure the confidentiality and protection of sensitive data across the organization.


Key Responsibilities

DLP Policy Engineering

Design, implement, and manage DLP policies using leading platforms such as Broadcom (Symantec) DLP and Microsoft Purview DLP.

Develop and fine-tune EDM (Exact Data Matching)-based policies to align with business and regulatory requirements.

Monitor, analyze, and optimize DLP alerts and incidents to reduce false positives while ensuring data protection.

Scripting & Automation

Write and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell (mandatory) and Python (preferred).

Develop automation workflows for testing, deployment, and configuration of DLP policies.

Apply test automation principles to validate policy effectiveness and system resilience.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

Implement and maintain secure system configurations in alignment with enterprise security standards.

Assist in identifying enterprise security risks related to data leakage and propose appropriate controls.

Support audits, compliance initiatives, and incident response activities related to data protection.

Collaboration & Reporting

Work closely with cross-functional teams (security, IT, compliance, business units) to implement DLP solutions tailored to business needs.

Create and maintain technical documentation, playbooks, and knowledge articles.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders by presenting technical insights in a clear and concise manner.


Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.

2–4 years of experience in cybersecurity with a focus on DLP engineering.

Strong hands-on experience with Broadcom (Symantec) DLP and Microsoft Purview DLP.

Proven ability to design and fine-tune EDM-based policies.

Proficiency in PowerShell scripting (mandatory); Python scripting is a plus.

Good understanding of test automation principles and secure system configurations.

Solid knowledge of enterprise security risks, controls, and data protection frameworks.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with global teams.
