Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency) Hiring Location - Chennai/Hyderabad Exp Range - 4-8 yrs Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency) Must-Have Unix Administrator duties and responsibilities Advanced level proficiency with UNIX and Linux Operating Systems in a large scale multi data center 24x7 environment (required) Advance proficiency with UNIX/Linux RHEL 7 Server Setup, maintenance, configuration, and Support Perform system level support for Oracle applications and database servers, Java application servers and other large-scale databases in a UNIX environment Perform Vulnerability Remediation (Infra investigation and remediation) Firmware updates on Storage and VMware Audit Support (Data collection and submissions) Capacity Management (Compute & Storage) Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments Fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes Perform assigned tasks and projects related to infrastructure and operation support Participate in meetings with system administration staff, customers and management Required Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in related technical discipline and 4+ years of operating systems experience. Hands-on Unix/Linux experience that includes specific technical experience with Solaris / Red Hat systems administration support for large scale UNIX environments Operating System Patch Management (Linux & AIX) Server Builds (RHEL, AIX) Project Support , Operational and Business led Shell scripting and/or Perl scripting experience Experience applying OS patch updates for Red Hat and AIX Extensive experience in supporting and troubleshooting Linux and AIX Experience in recovering the UNIX/Linux systems in the event of failures Experience with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity operations on UNIX environment highly preferred Strong problem solving and communication skills Certification Red Hat certified System Administrator (preferred) Red Hat Certified System Engineer (a plus) Show more Show less
