Job Summary
The Tax Accountant position is responsible for the preparation of the in-house corporate tax compliance and tax accounting functions of a multistate and multinational affiliated group of corporations.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Prepare consolidated federal, multi-state separate and unitary, local and/or international corporate tax returns, related workpapers, extensions and estimated payments
- Research and respond to notices and information requests from various taxing jurisdictions
- Assist in preparation of annual corporate income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740 including calculation of book/tax adjustments.
- Prepare indirect tax filings such as property, sales and use tax.
- Prepare monthly GL account analyses including reconciling income tax, property and sales tax accounts.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments.
- Perform research on tax issues.
- Respond to internal and external customers in a timely and effective manner.
- Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager’s discretion.
- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work and education experience
Work Experience
- Typically 2+ years of progressive work experience in tax required
- Experience in public accounting and/or a Fortune 1000 size company (publicly traded) with high volume transactions and disciplined close process preferred
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Understanding of tax principles in addition to accounting and business procedures.
- Ability to perform tax research and effectively communicate (written and verbal) income tax accounting and compliance issues.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Experience with RIA Checkpoint, OneSource Income Tax, OneSource Tax Provision, and/or Oracle ERP a plus.
- A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Ability to follow up on pending issues, take initiative and solve problems
- Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Experience working with the Indian tax authorities (Indian Revenue Service)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
