Virtualization and Cloud Operations Support Engineer

Minimum 8-10+ year hands-on experience in VMWare or cloud technologies. Primary as VMWare and Secondary as AWS/Azure Cloud or vice-versa

Job Requirements/Role

• • Acting as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) for the support teams responsible for maintaining a scalable and resilient infrastructure to support the needs of teams across EA
  • Acting as SME for the operation of resilient distributed systems that run across multiple data Center and cloud providers
  • Directly influence our journey towards zero-touch, highly scalable, reliable infrastructure.
  • Direct involvement in incidents or problems that cause service impact and act as escalation point for incidents that impact Virtualization and Cloud infrastructure platforms
  • Automate, optimize and drive efficiency of effort, code, and process.
  • Resolve complex technical issues and drive innovations that improve system availability, resilience, and performance.
  • Create, maintain and share technical documentation used by engineers and other team members.
  • Provide mentorship to other team members and partner with other SMEs across the organization
  • Training and completing knowledge transfer sessions with appropriate other teams within IT Operations

Certifications

• • AWS Certified Professional preferred
  • VMware certified would be an advantage
  • RHCE or other *NIX certification would be an preferred
  • ITIL Certification would be an advantage

Minimum 8-10+ year hands-on experience in VMWare or cloud technologies. Primary as VMWare and Secondary as AWS/Azure Cloud or vice-versa

Mandatory Skills

• Extensive experience in Virtualization with VMware vSphere, ESXi servers, vCenter, and/ or (VMware Orchestrator vCO, VMware vCloud Automation Center and vRealize Orchestrator vRO, vRealize Automation vRA)
• Should have expertise skill in creating blueprints and detailed documentation
• Hands on experience with blade server management and applying security patches on ESXi server
• Ability to manage cloud-based infrastructures (AWS/Azure) and deliver the required performance, security, and availability requirements
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes experience in a production setting
• Experience with containerizing applications, deploy and maintain them
• Ability to understanding of application lifecycle management.
• Understanding in the use of containers in development processes
• Work with various team & management to understand the requirement & implement them
• VMware certification would be an added advantage
