Job Description

Emeritus is looking for an IT Systems Administrator to provide timely IT support to our corporate and program staff. You’ll work across teams and with key stakeholders to ensure that our IT systems are administered in a professional manner. If you are a highly motivated and collaborative individual looking to work with a mission-driven team, this may be the role for you. This position works remotely.


The Responsibilities:


● Systems Administration

○ Manage and maintain Windows and Linux server environments, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability across all production and development systems.

○ Configure, deploy, and monitor virtualization infrastructure.

○ Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades while minimizing downtime and coordinating maintenance windows.

○ Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and infrastructure topology

● Applications and Development Oversight

○ Manage application servers, databases, and web services to maintain high availability and performance.

○ Ensure proper version control, testing environments, and staging procedures are in place.

● Information Security Management

○ Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices across all IT systems.

○ Configure and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus/anti-malware solutions.

○ Manage user access controls, permissions, and authentication systems (Active Directory/ SSO).

● Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning

○ Implement and manage backup solutions, ensuring regular testing of restore procedures.

○ Maintain off-site backup storage and replication systems for critical data and applications.

● Staff Support

○ Manage help desk tickets and prioritize support requests based on urgency and impact.

○ Onboard new employees with appropriate system access, equipment, and orientation.

● Ad-Hoc Network Setups

○ Design and deploy temporary network infrastructure for special events, camps, or remote locations.

○ Configure wireless access points, switches, and routers for short-term implementations.

○ Coordinate with venues and third-party providers for internet connectivity and equipment needs.

○ Rapidly troubleshoot and resolve network issues in time-sensitive environments.


The Qualification:


● Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent education or related experience.

● 7 years of progressive IT experience.

● MCSA/Cisco/AWS certifications preferred.

● Experience administering the following systems/tools:

○ Manage Engine

○ GSuite Enterprise Plus

○ GSuite MDM

○ Windows Server 2016/2019

○ WIndows 11

○ Linux (Ubuntu)

○ Active Directory/GPO

○ Cisco ASA with VPN

○ WDS (Windows 11 deployment)

● Excellent written and verbal English communication skills


Note: This position requires working normal US timezone business hours.
