Job Description

Job Profile:

The Civil QA/QC Inspector & Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and implementing quality control and assurance activities related to civil and structural works at the site. This includes monitoring construction quality, reviewing and validating test results, ensuring compliance with project specifications and applicable standards, and coordinating with the client, contractor, and third-party inspection agencies. The role also involves maintaining quality documentation and assisting with audits and inspections to ensure smooth project execution within defined quality parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and verify civil/structural activities per QAP, ITP, drawings & specifications
  • Monitor construction quality across all phases: excavation to finishing
  • Witness lab & field tests for soil, concrete, steel, etc. as per QA plans
  • Implement QA/QC procedures, coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
  • Conduct joint inspections, issue and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
  • Interface with clients, PMC, contractors & third-party QA agencies
  • Maintain complete QA documentation: pour cards, reports, test certificates, etc.
  • Coordinate material inspection, shelf-life checks, and proper storage
  • Support quality audits, ensure traceability of records as per QMS standards

Required Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of civil engineering construction methods
  • Proficient in interpreting drawings, codes & specifications
  • Hands-on experience in site testing (soil, concrete, steel, bitumen, masonry)
  • Familiarity with IS codes (456, 383, 10262, 3370, etc.), IRC, ASTM/BS/ACI
  • Knowledge of NBC 2016 & ISO 9001-based QMS documentation
  • Skilled in Non-Destructive Testing techniques (hammer, UPV, core, corrosion)
  • Excellent coordination, reporting & stakeholder communication skills

Preferred Qualification:

· B.E. / B. Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering from recognized university.

· Minimum 7–8 years of QA/QC experience in industrial construction (preferably petrochemical, refinery, or heavy industry)

· Working experience with large contractors or direct engagement in projects at Oil and gas , Petrochemical Industries is an added advantage

· Certifications in Quality Management (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) or NDT Level II are desirable
