Job Purpose/ Summary

The Support – Cold Zone Finishing role involves assisting in the operations and quality control activities in the cold finishing section of WDIPL. The role supports the smooth functioning of finishing processes, ensures product quality compliance, and coordinates with other departments to meet production targets and safety standards.

Job Title

Support Cold Zone Finishing WDIPLAs an Engineer in the Cold Zone Finishing Department at WDIPL, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all operations related to the cold zone finishing process in our steel plant. This includes ensuring compliance with safety regulations, monitoring and controlling the process, and using SAP and other IT-related applications to manage data and improve efficiency.

Principal Accountabilities

Oversee and manage all operations related to the cold zone finishing process in the steel plant.Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.Use analytical skills to identify areas for process improvement and implement changes.Utilize SAP and other IT-related applications to manage data, track performance, and improve efficiency.Liaise with other departments and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues.Use your knowledge of ductile iron pipe to ensure the highest quality of finished product.Demonstrate a global mindset and commercial acumen in all decisions and actions.Show entrepreneurship in identifying and pursuing new opportunities for improvement and growth.Manage and lead your team to achieve excellence in all areas.Handle conflicts effectively and make decisions that are in the best interest of the company and the team.Build and maintain strong professional networks to benefit the company and its operations.This role requires a strong combination of technical knowledge and soft skills, with a special emphasis on conflict management, decision making, liaising, networking, and people management. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
