Overview
Identify new suppliers for sourcing opportunities for Industrial products throughout Asia Pacific Region

The main responsibilities of a Sourcing Specialist include but not limited to

  • Develop potential suppliers for non-standard products that will be offered to Fastenal stores, and handle helpdesk question, about quality, package, MOQ and special branch request on price.
  • Identify and recommend suppliers to branch & other internal customers after reviewing quotation and on-site factory visits.
  • Follow up on project progress with branch & other internal customers, potential suppliers, as well as sourcing teams to ensure smooth communication within all project stake holders.
  • Keep sending new potential supplier’s price and introduction for a discussion with branch & other internal customers on current product line strategy, especially for single source category.
  • Assist Sourcing project lead to select the most qualified suppliers for Fastenal based on price, quality, service metrics.
  • Keep updating package changes to Compliance team for FASTCO database.
  • Coordinate with QC team on Quality complaints from hub and standard part customers.
  • Work with buyer on difficulties about MOQ from supplier and adjust MOQ or MOV to meet our demand or switch to consolidation price with supplier for better company shipping efficiency.
  • Expediting all supplier’s repeat order for production, testing, ASN pushing, Booking and delivery by email and call.

  • Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor degree or above.
  • Knowledge and experience in industrial products preferred

  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Fluent oral and written English communication skill
  • Excellent time management skills in a fast-paced team environment
  • Be able to take initiatives to work extra miles on helping out projects, as well as the team
  • Analytical, driven, open minded, goal and customer service oriented,
  • The ability to work independently
  • Working knowledge of Excel and related Microsoft Office Software
  • Practice integrity and professionalism in all aspects of the business
  • Basic knowledge on print-study is preferred but not required
  • Travel will be required for this position, somewhere from 25%-50% of your work time
