IT Network Engineer

As an IT Network Engineer at Fastenal India, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and monitoring network administration and engineering practices, focusing on areas such as network security, routing protocols, and switching technologies. You will be responsible for analyzing, developing, testing, and optimizing solutions to enhance processes and automate infrastructure with quality. Ensuring the integrity and security of networking through regular patch management and participating in disaster recovery tests will be part of your routine tasks. Your responsibilities will also include conducting technical reviews of deploy guides, code, and documentations, providing innovative solutions to complex technical issues, and aligning your expertise with the business needs. You will be expected to learn, utilize, and deliver technical trainings, mentor junior team members, and communicate effectively across IT teams. Additionally, you will provide support for critical network systems on an on-call rotation basis and ensure adherence to the organization's standards and policies. To qualify for this position, you must possess a full-time Bachelor's degree, along with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in network administration. Strong verbal and written communication skills, self-motivation, discipline, and the ability to work independently are essential. Your problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making abilities will be put to the test in a fast-paced environment where you will lead projects and demonstrate strong planning and prioritization skills. Preferred qualifications include a deep understanding of networking firewall, routing, switching, and wireless technologies, hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewall, Cisco routing and switching, and familiarity with Meraki wireless and Azure Networking. A willingness to learn and adopt a growth mindset, as well as scripting knowledge in Python, Ansible, or Terraform, will be advantageous. Possessing certifications such as CCNP/PCNSE and having 5+ years of experience will be considered beneficial for this role.
