Linux Systems Engineer

As a full-time IT Systems Engineer - Linux, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the technical direction and implementation of the enterprise system administrator/engineering environment. Your responsibilities will include maintaining, monitoring, and administering systems and services availability and stability in the realm of Red Hat Linux OS. It will be imperative to ensure the integrity and security of systems through effective patch management. Additionally, you will participate in Disaster recovery tests, learn, develop and test Infrastructure as code tools to maintain and automate processes, sharpen troubleshooting skills, and provide status reporting of assigned tasks. Moreover, you will focus on building expertise, learning and adapting to new technologies as required by the team, documenting and sharing knowledge, ensuring adherence to organizational standards and policies, and facilitating effective communication within the team. Furthermore, you will be expected to provide support on critical systems as part of an on-call rotation. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Full Time Bachelor's degree and possess 2-4 years of experience in Linux system administration or a related information technology position. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, self-motivation, discipline, and strong problem-solving abilities are essential. You should also exhibit strong planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills, as well as the ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Moreover, a willingness to work flexible schedules, including on-call rotations, is required. Preferred qualifications include a strong understanding of Linux Operating system administration, a growth mindset, proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, Python, Ansible, Puppet, and certifications like RHCE would be advantageous.
