Network Engineer

As an IT Network Engineer at Fastenal India, you will play a key role in maintaining and monitoring network administration and engineering practices, focusing on areas such as network security, routing protocols, and switching technologies. Your responsibilities will include analyzing, developing, testing, and optimizing solutions to enhance processes and automate infrastructure, while ensuring the integrity and security of the networking environment through regular patch management. In this position, you will also participate in disaster recovery tests, conduct technical reviews of deployment guides and documentation, and provide innovative solutions to complex technical challenges. Additionally, you will deepen your expertise in alignment with business needs, conduct technical trainings, mentor junior team members, and communicate effectively across IT teams. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree and have 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in network administration. Strong verbal and written communication skills, motivation, discipline, and self-direction are essential, along with excellent organization, planning, and prioritization abilities. You should possess problem-solving and decision-making skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and experience leading projects. Flexibility in scheduling, including on-call rotations, is required. Preferred qualifications include a strong understanding of networking concepts such as firewall, routing, switching, and wireless technologies. Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewall, Cisco routing and switching, and Meraki wireless, as well as Azure Networking, would be advantageous. A willingness to learn and adapt with a growth mindset, along with scripting knowledge in Python, Ansible, or Terraform, is beneficial. Certifications such as CCNP or PCNSE would be considered a plus.
