About the Role

Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a

  domain and technology advisor

  , aligning oil & gas business processes with scalable digital and IT solutions.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to define

  functional and technical requirements

  , business use cases, and solution architectures.
• Lead the

  design and development of enterprise applications

  , including custom modules, integrations, and workflow automation.
• Drive adoption of

  modern technology stacks

  , including

  cloud-native platforms, microservices, APIs, and data-driven applications

  .
• Participate in

  architecture reviews

  , platform evaluations, and solution blueprinting with a focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Provide deep insights into oil & gas workflows, regulatory frameworks, and operational KPIs to inform solution design.
• Validate application configurations, business logic, and data pipelines against industry standards and benchmarks.
• Support DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and agile delivery methodologies across cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and stakeholder enablement sessions.
• Desirably, engage in vendor management, solution assessments, and technology road-map as a strategic partner

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Petroleum, Geoscience, IT, or related field;

  Master’s or MBA is a plus

  .
• Minimum

  12 years of total experience

  , with at least 7+ years in

  technology led

  oil & gas industry-specific roles.
• Strong understanding of

  software development lifecycle (SDLC)

  , agile methodologies, and enterprise architecture principles. Experience in any of the software languages .net C#/Java, cloud technologies.
• Proven expertise in

  at least one

  of the following domains:
• Upstream operations (exploration, drilling, reservoir, production)
• Downstream processes (refinery, petrochemicals)
• Familiarity with Asset integrity and reliability
• Familiarity with Digital oilfield / Smart field solutions
• Familiarity with platforms such as

  SAP (IS-Oil), Honeywell, AVEVA, OSIsoft PI, SCADA, or similar

  .
• Experience in pre-sales
• Experience as Product owner is an added advantage.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at executive levels.
