JOB TITLE SAFETY – SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT REPORTS TO PROJECT HEAD – DOMESTIC CHLOR ALKALI BUSINESS FUNCTION SAFETY JOB PROFILE Designing of Safety Policy & associated practices for ensuring that the Project’s operations are executed at all times in such a manner as to ensure safety of all employees, contractors and temporary workers associated with Project and others who may be affected by its operations. Summary Of Job Profile Sr. No. Key Responsibilities 1 Design a Safety policy for the Project Team according to ABG Safety Standards, which covers Contractor Safety, Scaffolding, Confined Space, Hot Work, Machine Guarding and Piping. & To make sure that all employees, contractors and temporary workers associated with Project, are made aware of their individual responsibility. 2 Plan and implement programs to train Site Leads & Teams in work site safety practices, safe equipment operating techniques and fire prevention for Project sites. 3 Plan and implement risk management, ABG Safety Policies and procedures in compliance with applicable Statutory & Regulatory requirements to maximize a safe working environment 4 Make provision for adequate and appropriate training to be given to all Project Team, Contractors and temporary workers associated with Project 5 Design & Implement Emergency Preparedness Plan. Train employees in proper procedures and conduct periodic emergency evaluation drills to ensure planning is effective in practice. 6 Chair Project Safety Committee consisting all the team members & report the outcome of the Same to Project Head (DCA) 7 Report Project Head (DCA) on routine basis to update the status of ongoing activities w.r.t Safety 8 To bring Project related safety matters and issues to the attention of the Project Head (DCA) at regular intervals 9 Ensure that the Activities in the Projects are aligned with all the associated Safety requirements as per ABGs Sustainability Standard and ensure that they are rigorously followed 10 Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident preventions. 11 Enhance Practices on Site to increase the Number of Near Miss & SO 12 In Case of any Accident, Finding Root Cause & Implanting Suitable Corrective Action upon it, for its mitigation & Horizontal Deployment on the same across the Clusters 13 Review and update monthly all site specific safety plans with the project teams. 14 Review the Safety Policy at Routine basis & update it if required 15 Conduct periodic safety inspections/ Audits on all job sites to ensure safety procedures are in place. 16 Ensure that an adequate programme of training for health and safety is established and that the safety culture is encouraged amongst team & contractors 17 Keep up to date with changes in current legislation and to bring to the attention of the Project Head (DCA) responsible for Health and Safety any relevant new legislation. 18 Provide recommendations and assistance to Project Teams with respect to job site hazards, employee training, new/safe equipment operation and safe material or substance utilization. 19 Support Project sites to detect existing potential accident and health hazards. Determine corrective or preventative measures, where indicated, assign responsibility and follow up to ensure the corrective measures have been implemented. 20 Provide Opportunities for improvement in context with the processes in the project in order to enhance Safety at Projects 21 Promoting subordinates to discuss suggestion & ideas w.r.t Safety for creating a culture of learning, innovation & creativity at the same time strengthen Safety Function Show more Show less
