Centre for Outreach and Digital education (CODE) is the centre which coordinates all non-campus academic & outreach activities from IIT Madras. 


The Role

We are looking for a Manager to head the team that handles video recordings and Live Sessions of all programs that come under IITM CODE. This person should be adept at overseeing the entire production lifecycle, from scheduling and resource allocation to final delivery. Technical expertise in video recording/editing is not mandatory.


Key Responsibilities


As the Studio Operations Manager, you will be in charge of the smooth functioning of our video production studios and team. Your core responsibilities include:

  • Managing the video editing pipeline to meet all project deadlines
  • Quality check on video samples that are edited by the team
  • Tracking the schedules of all team members
  • Ensuring that our recording studios are always in prime condition
  • Coordinating equipment maintenance and space allocation. 


A key part of this role is manpower management, which involves hiring, leading, and mentoring a team of video professionals to foster a high-performance culture.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • The ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of video editors and production staff.
  • Excellent skills in scheduling, resource allocation, and maintaining a clean and efficient studio environment.
  • The ability to quickly identify and resolve technical, logistical, or personnel issues that arise during production.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate, provide feedback, and coordinate with different teams.
  • Hands-on ability to troubleshoot equipment, set up shots, and work with various video and audio formats - technical expertise preferred, but not mandatory.
  • The ability to handle unexpected changes in schedules or project requirements and adapt quickly.
  • The ability to build strong, positive relationships with team members.
  • Skills to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines, is crucial
  • Enthusiasm and a positive attitude 


Candidate Profile

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in managing large teams.
  • Any Bachelor's degree and above
  • Must be completely hands-on with a willingness to deep dive into any issue to get a resolution
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess analytical & problem solving skills
  • Must be self-motivated and organized 
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and build strong relationships 
  • Take ownership; must be highly accountable.


Must be open to join immediately

Remuneration - based on industry standards


Please Note:

  • This is a full time position. Selected candidates have to work from the IIT Madras office. Working hours will be Mon-Fri 9am to 6pm. Weekend follow-up work will be there on a need basis.   
  • Accommodation in Chennai has to be arranged by the candidate. Accommodation within the IIT Madras campus is not given.
  • This is not a permanent job position either with the Central Government of India or IIT Madras.
