Structural Design Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Structural Design Engineer with strong experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The role involves end-to-end structural analysis, design, and detailing of RCC and steel structures for WTPs, STPs, ETPs, pumping stations, reservoirs, and associated hydraulic structures.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in structural modelling, code compliance, interdisciplinary coordination, and preparation of detailed engineering deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

1. Structural Analysis & Design

• Perform structural design of RCC and steel components for:
  • Water Treatment Plants (WTP)
  • Sewage Treatment Plants (STP)
  • Clarifiers, aeration tanks, sedimentation basins
  • Pump houses, sumps, intake structures
  • Pipe racks, trenches, culverts, equipment foundations
  • Elevated/underground reservoirs & retaining structures
• Develop STAAD.Pro models and structural calculation sheets.

2. Engineering Deliverables & Documentation

• Prepare Design Basis Reports (DBR), design calculations, load combinations & analysis notes.
• Produce/review detailed GA drawings, reinforcement detailing, and bar bending schedules.
• Generate BOQs, material specifications, and technical notes for tender and construction stages.

3. Code Compliance & Quality Checks

• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards such as:
  • IS 456, IS 3370, IS 800, IS 1893
  • ACI, Eurocode, AISC (advantage)
• Conduct structural adequacy checks, durability assessments, crack width and serviceability checks.
• Provide design solutions for strengthening, retrofitting, and constructability issues.

4. Coordination & Project Support

• Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, piping, geotechnical and architectural teams.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP/value engineering workshops, and client/consultant meetings.
• Provide technical support during tendering, procurement, and execution phases.
• Review vendor drawings and resolve interdisciplinary clashes.

5. Site & Construction Support (as required)

• Provide technical clarification to site teams during construction.
• Review shop drawings, RFI responses, method statements and construction deviations.

Required Skills & Expertise

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge in RCC and steel design for water-related structures.
• Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD; exposure to RCDC, ETABS, SAFE, Revit is an advantage.
• Understanding of hydraulic loads, soil-structure interaction & geotechnical inputs.
• Ability to interpret process flow diagrams, equipment loads & treatment plant layouts.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech Civil Engineering (Mandatory)
• M.E./M.Tech Structural Engineering (Preferred)
• 711 years of experience in structural design of WTP/STP/ETP & water infrastructure projects
