Job Description for Store Keeper – Electrical & Instrumentation ProjectsExperience Required: Minimum 2 yearsProject Location: ChennaiRole Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Store Keeper with prior experience in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) projects. The role involves managing the receipt, storage, and issuance of project materials, tools, and equipment required for Erection, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning (EITC) activities. The candidate will ensure accurate inventory control, maintain documentation, and support the site execution team to ensure uninterrupted work progress.Key Responsibilities:• Material Handling & Inventory Management:- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, tools and consumables against delivery challans and tax invoices.- Properly tag, label, and arrange materials as per project requirements (electrical cables, instruments, panels, junction boxes, consumables, etc.).- Maintain adequate stock levels and update records in manual registers and excel sheets regularly.• Issue & Return of Materials:- Issue materials to site engineers/supervisors as per approved material request slips.- Track and record returns of unused or defective materials.- Ensure proper documentation of material consumption for daily, weekly, and monthly reports.• Coordination & Communication:- Coordinate with the site planning, procurement, and execution teams to ensure timely availability of required materials.- Report shortages, damage, or discrepancies immediately to the concerned department.• Compliance & Safety:- Ensure proper storage of sensitive equipment (electrical/instrumentation items) as per client’s guidelines.- Maintain housekeeping and follow site safety protocols for material handling.- Support audits and inspections related to material management.• Record Keeping & Reporting:- Prepare daily stock reports, consumption reports, and reconciliation statements.- Assist in physical inventory checks and reconciliation with client’s teams.
