Job Description for Engineer – Electrical & Instrumentation Projects Experience Required: Minimum 3 years Project Location: Chennai Role Overview: We are looking for a skilled Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer with at least 3 years of experience in execution of Erection, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning (EITC) works. The engineer will be responsible for supervising site activities, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards, while coordinating with project teams to deliver work on schedule. Key Responsibilities: • Project Execution: - Review and interpret engineering drawings, cable schedules, loop diagrams, and datasheets. - Supervise erection, installation of electrical & instrumentation panels, field instruments, junction boxes, cable tray and cable laying works. - Ensure correct installation practices are followed as per project specifications and industry standards. • Planning & Coordination: - Prepare daily and weekly execution plans in coordination with supervisors and planning teams. - Coordinate with procurement, store, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials. - Liaise with client engineers and consultants for work inspection right from the preparation of ITP document, punch point clearances and its approvals. • Testing & Commissioning: - Lead and execute pre-commissioning and commissioning activities including cable testing, loop checking, functional testing etc. - Prepare and maintain test records and commissioning documents for client submission. • Quality & Safety Compliance: - Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with relevant standards, procedures, and quality control plans. - Promote and enforce safety practices, conduct toolbox talks, and verify use of PPE at the site. • Reporting & Documentation: - Maintain daily progress reports, manpower deployment records, and material consumption data, sending it to Head office on a regular basis. Identify issues, constraints, and recommend corrective actions to achieve project milestones. Skills & Qualifications: • Education: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering. • Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience in E&I project execution involving erection, installation, testing, and commissioning works. • Technical Knowledge: - Strong knowledge of E&I systems, drawings, and installation practices. - Proficiency in electrical load calculations, loop checking of control systems. • Software Skills: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) • Other Skills: - Good leadership and communication skills. - Ability to handle client interactions and resolve site-related technical issues. - Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
