Job Summary:

The Store Assistant is responsible for supporting the store operations by maintaining inventory, ensuring accurate records, and facilitating the smooth movement of materials and supplies. This role is critical to ensuring the research and production departments have the materials they need in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming materials, chemicals, and laboratory supplies.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using store management systems (manual or digital).
• Issue materials to departments as per requisition and maintain issue logs.
• Conduct regular stock audits and report discrepancies to the Store Manager.
• Ensure proper labeling, handling, and storage of hazardous and sensitive materials as per safety protocols.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the store area.
• Monitor stock levels and raise purchase requests for replenishment in coordination with the procurement team.
• Support documentation processes related to quality control and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with vendors and logistics teams for timely deliveries.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum qualification: Graduate (preferably in Science or Commerce).
• 1–3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in pharmaceutical or research industries.
• Knowledge of inventory and storekeeping procedures.
• Familiarity with ERP/Inventory Management Software is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of chemical/material safety and handling procedures.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment:

• Laboratory/store environment with exposure to chemicals and materials.
• May require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
