Storage and Backup Engineer ( Cohesity, Commvault)

Job Title: Storage & Backup Engineer Experience: 4 to 8 Years Location:Gurgaon Employment Type:Full Time Shift: Rotational Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Storage & Backup Engineer Level 2 to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintenance, implementation, and operational excellence of enterprise-level backup and storage systems. This role requires strong IT infrastructure skills, deep storage & backup knowledge, and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managed service providers. Key Responsibilities: Operate and maintain the backend infrastructure of numerous backup environments running Cohesity, Commvault, and others. Build new backup environments Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructural level issues Escalation points for backup client level issues Assess current storage infrastructure and create plans for optimization and modernization. Maintain & patch current Commvault & Cohesity infrastructures. Ability to assist Backup Administrators with their escalations and troubleshoot complex issues. Collaborate with managed service providers to ensure consistent and reliable storage and backup operations. Experience incapacity planning, utilization analysis, and optimization efforts for storage environments. Integrate various storage technologies (SAN, NAS, Object Storage) with enterprise backup systems. Ensure data protection, backup, and disaster recovery strategies are in place and operational. Contribute to cross-functional infrastructure planning (VMware, Network, Linux, Windows). Required Skills and Qualifications: Storage Administration: Experience with NetApp, Dell Isilon, Data domain. Backup Solutions: Hands-on experience with Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, Cohesity. Protocols: Strong knowledge of NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, FC, RAID, Object Storage. Scripting & Automation: Nice to have skills in PowerShell, Python, Shell scripting, and Ansible. Proven experience with enterprise-scale deployments and hybrid environments. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across IT teams. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Commvault & Cohesity Certifications related to storage technologies, Commvault or Cohesity are a plus.
