Job Description

Role Overview

The State Head Sales & Franchise Operations is responsible for leading and managing overall sales performance and franchise operations within the assigned state. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, strengthening franchise relationships, ensuring operational excellence, and driving sustainable business growth in line with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Revenue Management

  • Achieve state-wise sales targets in line with monthly, quarterly, and annual business plans.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase market penetration and brand visibility.
  • Monitor primary and secondary sales performance and take corrective actions where required.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer demand to drive growth.

2. Franchise Management

  • Oversee end-to-end franchise operations within the state.
  • Support franchise partners in business planning, sales execution, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, pricing, branding, and SOPs by all franchise units.
  • Resolve franchise-related issues and act as the primary escalation point.

3. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and manage Area Sales Managers / Franchise Managers across the state.
  • Set clear KPIs, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide ongoing coaching.
  • Build a high-performing sales and operations team through training and motivation.

4. Channel & Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with franchise partners and key stakeholders.
  • Provide continuous support on product knowledge, USPs, schemes, and promotions.
  • Ensure timely product availability and smooth coordination with supply chain teams.

5. Business Expansion

  • Identify potential locations and opportunities for new franchise onboarding.
  • Support franchise expansion and territory development initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams for smooth launch and stabilization of new franchises.

6. Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure proper implementation of company processes, systems, and reporting structures.
  • Monitor inventory levels, billing, collections, and outstanding management.
  • Ensure statutory, financial, and operational compliance at the state level.

7. Reporting & Coordination

  • Prepare and submit regular MIS, sales reports, forecasts, and review presentations.
  • Coordinate with marketing, finance, supply chain, HR, and HO teams for seamless operations.
  • Participate in review meetings and contribute to strategic planning discussions.

Qualification & Experience

  • Graduate / MBA preferred
  • 8–12 years of experience in sales, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role
  • Prior experience in franchise-based business models is mandatory
  • FMCG / Retail / Consumer goods industry exposure preferred
