Purpose/Objective


    The Substation Maintenance Manager (Site)-Tx is responsible for executing and maintaining the operation and maintenance of substation systems to ensure optimal reliability, availability, and performance. The role involves conducting preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety norms, and supporting technology integration to enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, the team member facilitates seamless coordination with stakeholders, ensures resource readiness, and contributes to achieving site-level maintenance and financial objectives while aligning with organizational standards and goals.

Key Responsibilities of Role


    Substation Maintenance Manager (Site)-Tx Operational Excellence: Maximize equipment availability by executing 100% preventive maintenance, periodic testing, and adhering to O&M schedules to reduce forced outages. Optimize annual shutdown timelines by planning and executing maintenance activities efficiently to minimize disruptions and ensure zero forced outages. Ensure system reliability by conducting periodic and breakdown maintenance of AC yard equipment, transformers, isolators, and auxiliary systems. Maintain asset health by implementing condition-based monitoring, protection system testing, and drone inspections to proactively identify risks and address failures. Streamline asset transitions by ensuring compliance with HoTo standards during project-to-O&M phase handovers and maintaining quality benchmarks. Enhance operational reliability by maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, testing results, and protection system performance to enable data-driven decision-making. Benchmark cost efficiency by monitoring site-level performance, optimizing resource usage, and aligning maintenance activities with operational targets. Ensure uninterrupted operations by tracking existing inventory, maintaining critical spares, and coordinating procurement of resources to meet maintenance demands. Safety Governance: Foster a zero-incident environment by implementing safety SOPs, conducting regular site-level audits, and addressing deviations through Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). Minimize operational safety risks by conducting Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA) and implementing targeted mitigation plans. Promote workforce safety awareness and compliance by conducting regular training programs, safety meetings, and focused campaigns. Ensure safety compliance during maintenance activities by identifying hazards, reporting incidents promptly, and adhering to HSE norms in alignment with company policies. Monitor contractor safety by enforcing adherence to established safety guidelines, policies, and standards across all substation operations. Governance, Compliance, and Risk Management: Mitigate operational risks by conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing CAPA for tripping, equipment failures, and recurring issues to prevent disruptions. Ensure regulatory compliance with statutory frameworks (IMS, DISHA, ESG) by maintaining accurate documentation, addressing deviations, and ensuring audit readiness. Address site-specific operational challenges, such as ROW (Right of Way) and legal issues, by coordinating with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of maintenance activities. Support organizational goals by tracking and submitting operational data for project bidding, mergers, acquisitions, and legal documentation. Technology and Innovation: Enhance maintenance efficiency by leveraging tools like LAM-SAP, GIS, Power BI, and Field Force Mobility for real-time monitoring, resource tracking, and accurate reporting. Improve asset performance and reliability by implementing predictive maintenance technologies such as condition-based monitoring, drone inspections, and protection system testing. Streamline workflows and improve data accuracy by standardizing digital platforms across substation operations, enabling informed, data-driven decision-making. Drive process adherence and improve operational consistency by ensuring proper documentation and utilization of IMS standards. Stakeholder Management: Resolve equipment-related issues by coordinating with OEMs, service providers, and internal teams to ensure timely maintenance execution and on-time deliverables. Ensure smooth completion of vendor and contractor activities by managing work progress, ensuring timely payments, and fulfilling contractual obligations. Effectively represent substation operations in technical discussions and meetings, ensuring challenges are resolved promptly and maintenance deliverables align with organizational goals and timelines.
