Deputy Manager - Maintenance

Purpose/Objective

The Lead - Plant Maintenance (Electrical) leads the electrical maintenance team, ensuring that all electrical systems and equipment are maintained to support production goals. This role provides advanced troubleshooting, implements reliability improvement programs, and ensures compliance with electrical safety standards and SAP documentation requirements.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Electrical Maintenance Management - Lead the electrical maintenance team in executing maintenance activities, including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on all electrical systems and equipment. - Plan and coordinate electrical maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and equipment specifications. Technical Troubleshooting and Diagnostics - Provide advanced troubleshooting for electrical systems, utilizing diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and thermal imaging cameras to identify faults and implement solutions. - Conduct root cause analysis of electrical failures, developing corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve system reliability. Reliability and Performance Enhancement - Implement reliability improvement programs, including motor management, insulation testing, and load analysis, to optimize the performance of electrical equipment. - Utilize predictive maintenance techniques such as infrared thermography and partial discharge testing to anticipate electrical failures. Work Order Management and SAP Compliance - Ensure all electrical maintenance activities are accurately documented within SAP, managing work orders and ensuring compliance with internal controls. - Use SAP for scheduling, tracking, and analyzing maintenance activities, contributing to continuous improvement in maintenance planning. Spare Parts and Inventory Control - Oversee the management of electrical spare parts inventory, ensuring critical spares are available and optimizing inventory levels to support maintenance needs. - Collaborate with procurement to evaluate suppliers and select high-quality electrical components and materials. Safety Standards and Compliance - Enforce electrical safety standards, including compliance with NFPA 70E, proper use of arc flash PPE, and adherence to electrical safety work practices. - Conduct electrical safety audits and risk assessments, implementing corrective measures to address identified hazards. Team Leadership and Skill Development - Lead and mentor the electrical maintenance team, providing technical guidance, training, and performance feedback to enhance skills and maintain high safety standards. - Organize training sessions focused on advanced electrical maintenance techniques, safety protocols, and SAP compliance. Condition Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance - Implement condition monitoring programs for electrical systems, including motor current analysis, insulation resistance testing, and thermal imaging to detect potential issues. - Analyze monitoring data to identify trends and schedule proactive maintenance interventions. Continuous Improvement and Lean Maintenance - Drive continuous improvement initiatives in electrical maintenance, applying Lean methodologies to reduce waste, improve response times, and enhance process efficiency. - Participate in Kaizen events, focusing on electrical system improvements and reliability optimization. Stakeholder Communication and Reporting - Provide updates to the Head of Maintenance and other stakeholders on electrical maintenance performance, highlighting key metrics such as repair times, downtime reduction, and cost efficiency. - Prepare detailed reports on electrical maintenance activities, outlining achievements, challenges, and plans for future improvements. Qualifications and Experience

Educational Background - BE in Electrical Engineering. Work Experience - 8+ years of experience in electrical maintenance. Industry Knowledge - Expertise in electrical system maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance practices.
