Server & Infrastructure Management:
- Configuration server performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Manage and support physical and virtual server environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware.
- Troubleshoot server issues related to hardware, software, and network configurations.
- Collaborate with L1 support and other IT teams to resolve complex issues.
Backup, Disaster Recovery & Data Protection
- Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
- Utilize and manage backup tools such as-
■ Veeam Backup & Replication for virtual, physical, and cloud workloads.
- Ensure backup integrity and perform regular test restores to validate disaster recovery plans.
- Maintain documentation of backup configurations, schedules, and recovery procedures.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain security protocols to protect network and server infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Respond to security incidents and provide resolutions.
Documentation And Reporting
- Maintain accurate documentation of network and server configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Generate regular reports on system performance, issues, and resolutions.
- Provide training and support to L1 support staff and end-users as needed.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in network and server support, preferably in an L2 capacity.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of network protocols, services, and standards (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs).
- Experience with network hardware (e.g., Cisco, Juniper) and server platforms (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Knowledge of security practices and tools (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems).
- Hands-on experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions, including tools like Veeam.
Certifications
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, MCSA.
