Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer / Automation SME to drive large-scale infrastructure automation initiatives across global environments. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical depth in Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, and scripting with proven leadership, communication, and collaboration skills to mentor teams, establish best practices, and deliver automation excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead automation strategy, design, and implementation for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and compliance.
  • Architect and maintain reusable IaC frameworks using Terraform and configuration baselines using Ansible/Puppet.
  • Guide teams in automation of DDI, compute, network, and storage components.
  • Define and enforce automation standards, code review practices, and CI/CD integration.
  • Partner with global delivery, architecture, and operations teams to align automation initiatives with business goals.
  • Troubleshoot complex automation failures across multi-cloud and hybrid infrastructure.
  • Mentor and upskill DevOps engineers through hands-on guidance and knowledge sharing.
  • Own delivery SLAs, shift coverage, and ensure operational excellence in a 24×7 support model.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including monitoring, observability, and performance optimization.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Automation, or Site Reliability Engineering.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, and scripting (Python/Shell).
  • Experience designing multi-environment, multi-cloud automation frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, DDI services (DNS/DHCP/IPAM), and security automation.
  • Proven experience in CI/CD, version control (Git), pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI), and configuration governance.
  • Leadership skills with experience mentoring teams and driving end-to-end automation initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business teams.
  • Willingness to work in 24×7 environment and handle critical escalations.
