Sr Manager / AVP - D2C Supply ChainAbout the CompanyThis opportunity is with Handelnine Global, an e-commerce company that owns and operates 15+online retail brands in over 60 countries. The company is profitable, self-funded and has exhibitedstrong growth in the last 5+ years. The company has offices in India as well as the USA and servesglobal markets including the UK, USA, Europe, Australia, Middle East and Southeast Asia. HandelnineGlobal is currently in a phase of rapid growth with new brands and markets being launched everyquarter.Role and Responsibilities Product Sourcing Understand different ecommerce business models within our system, both existingand new, and align product sourcing strategies for optimally supporting each model. Experiment with different approaches like, sourcing from distributors, third-partymanufacturers, or directly from brands and evaluate best strategies for each businessmodel by comparing factors like cost, quality, timelines, commercial terms, etc. Complete ownership of the procurement process and purchase cycle, starting fromidentifying suppliers to sampling to negotiation and paperwork to warehouse delivery. Solve related problems across the supply chain, such as packaging vendors, inboundand outbound logistics partners, import/export processes and so on.
  • Supplier Partnerships Establish and nurture supplier relationships for reliable and profitable sourcing. Leverage supplier relationships while placing reorders and maximise long-term value. Contribute to strengthening unit economics by deriving benefits like price advantagesand JIT timelines through strategic partnerships with suppliers.
  • Strategic Business Development The candidate should have an eye for identifying opportunities to partner with brandsor distributors that could be mutually beneficial in the long run. Negotiate strategic agreements and partnerships with suppliers in line with our plansto grow globally, both on D2C channels and marketplaces. Also drive strategic supply partnerships for our private labels. Ownership and Accountability Take ownership of KPIs that indicate product quality, including marketplace ODRs. Drive unit economics through cost optimisation on purchase and inbound logistics. Be accountable for timelines of receiving the products in our warehouse. Leadership and Team Expansion Build a network of local sourcing agents globally, especially in geographies like theUSA, India, Southeast Asia, China, and the Middle East.

The role could evolve in a growth path where you head the entire D2C supply process globally.Desired Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is someone with 8+ years of experience in D2C supply chain, productprocurement, or business development within the e-commerce or consumer goods industries,preferably with prior global experience. Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret and use data to take unbiased strategicdecisions. The candidate should also be able to evaluate product quality across a variety ofniches, in order to pick the right product and supplier. Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence and motivate both internal andexternal stakeholders. This is essentially a business development role, where the candidate is expected to organiseand participate in virtual and in-person meetings. Some meetings could involve travelingwithin or even outside the country. Strong alignment with Handelnines core values, such as Action Bias, Solution Ownership, andIncremental Improvement. Candidates who have worked in fast-paced environments like those of startups or new andgrowing business divisions would be preferred. The candidate should share our mindset of working with incremental improvements and mustbe open to learn new things quickly. We are looking for someone who can work independentlywith a result-focus and is not afraid to experiment within accountability. The candidate should be solution-oriented with the ability to think clearly, logically and evenlaterally, when presented with a problem. We need someone who can communicate freely andfluently and can work efficiently in an environment of remote team members.
