Job Description

A Senior Interior Designer is

a leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire design process of complex projects from concept to completion, managing client relationships, and mentoring junior staff. They blend creative vision with technical expertise and project management skills to deliver functional, aesthetically pleasing, and safe interior environments.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties of a Senior Interior Designer often include:

  • Project Leadership & Management: Leading and managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they adhere to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. This includes defining project requirements and scope during the initial brief.
  • Client Management: Collaborating with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs, preferences, and brand identity, and presenting design proposals and progress updates.
  • Design & Documentation: Developing comprehensive design concepts, including space planning, material and finish selection, color schemes, and custom furniture design. They produce detailed construction documents and technical drawings (e.g., floor plans, elevations, specifications) using CAD and BIM software.
  • Coordination & Execution: Coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless execution of design plans. This also involves conducting site visits to monitor progress and address on-site challenges.
  • Team Supervision & Mentorship: Providing guidance, feedback, and mentorship to junior designers, fostering their professional development and ensuring high-quality work.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensuring all designs comply with local building codes, safety regulations (e.g., ADA standards), and industry best practices.
  • Business Development: Assisting with marketing efforts, preparing project proposals, and managing existing client relationships to generate new opportunities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 5-10 years of professional experience in interior design or architecture. A strong portfolio showcasing successful, innovative projects is essential.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field is generally required. Professional certifications like the NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) or LEED accreditation are often preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3ds Max/Lumion, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) is critical.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership and project management abilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship management skills.
  • Creativity, a keen eye for detail, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
