Job Description

Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer Department: Engineering & Maintenance Location: MICT (Mundra International Container Terminal) Reports To: Assistant Manager / Manager / DGM – Electrical Industry: Port Operations / Terminal Services Experience Required: 3–7 years in Electrical Maintenance (preferably in Port/CHE environment) Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering Role Purpose: To ensure uninterrupted operation of electrical systems and container handling equipment (CHE) at MICT through preventive and corrective maintenance, while supporting organizational goals related to safety, efficiency, and compliance. Key Responsibilities:1. Equipment Maintenance & Reliability Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of container handling equipment including STS, RMG, E-RTG, RST, ECH. Ensure operational integrity of substations, switchyards, air conditioning systems, and yard lighting. Maintain auxiliary electrical accessories in optimal working condition. Ensure PM (Preventive Maintenance) compliance, PM closing, and KPI targets like MMBF, OEE, and equipment reliability. 2. Breakdown Management Respond swiftly to breakdowns and repair requests to minimize downtime. Coordinate with external contractors/consultants for resolution of critical or complex issues. Supervise shift teams to ensure timely job closures and effective manpower utilization. 3. Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdown history, and asset health. Support continuous improvement processes and contribute to achieving departmental targets. Ensure adherence to MICT’s Management System, Founders Principles, and LEAN practices. 4. Safety & Information Security Ensure adherence to safety protocols for staff and contractors during maintenance activities. Comply with DPW’s information security, confidentiality, and security compliance policies. 5. Leadership & Reporting Take ownership of responsibilities assigned by senior leadership. Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians or team members during shifts. Required Skills & Competencies: Technical expertise in electrical systems, CHE, and port infrastructure Knowledge of power systems including switchyards and substations Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Familiarity with safety and quality standards in industrial maintenance Proficient in maintenance software and reporting systems Good communication and team management abilities Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):PM compliance rate Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) Breakdown response and resolution time Equipment availability and reliability Safety and compliance audit scores
