The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality proposals and estimates for strategic projects, utilizing their experience and available resources to maintain a high success rate. This role requires leading cross-functional teams in developing accurate and timely estimates and proposals while ensuring the highest value to the customer by responding to complete bid packages. The Senior Estimator will work with both internal teams and external vendors to develop the most cost-effective technical and commercial solutions and is responsible for making sure the proposal is delivered on time.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare responses to customer requests for proposals, estimates, and supporting documents while ensuring alignment with sales and operations teams.
- Deliver high-quality proposals, continually seeking ways to improve processes and customer service.
- Review the value proposition ensuring we offer the best solution to the customer while being aligned with Honeywell Strategy (Market Verticalization, NPI, other initiatives)
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver proposals and estimates, coordinating with internal Honeywell organizations and third-party vendors.
- Utilize systems and tools to maintain accurate documentation of estimates, proposals, and supporting information.
- Analyze, design and develop viable end-to-end technical solutions for the ICSS business with a primary focus on DCS, SCADA and Process Safety Systems.
- Propose technical and commercial alternatives to enable the lowest compliant bid and highest value to the customer.
- Study RFQ and other technical documents to propose suitable solutions that meet customer technical and commercial requirements.
- Estimate Greenfield and Brownfield projects and services using relevant tools and methodologies.
- Coordinate with Procurement and other supporting areas to obtain technical and commercial offers from sub-vendors and third-party vendors.
- Complete full proposals with the required scope of supply/documents, working with relevant functions within the organization or subcontractors (Complete response to Bid Package).
- Respond to post-proposal technical clarifications and update proposals accordingly.
- Create and submit e-GAP (approval) documents as part of the proposal process.
- Continuously develop knowledge of Honeywell products and competitor solutions, and lead standardization of best practices across teams.
- Prepare a comprehensive Proposal Plan, ensuring proper resource allocation, deliverables, responsibilities, and dates for all team members.
- Delivering large proposals and/ or tenders for multiple clients, including international projects.
Key Skills And Qualifications
- 8-10 years of experience in Process Automation and/or Solutions, at least 5 years of experience in estimating projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Understanding of process industry (e.g., refinery, Oil & Gas, MMM etc)
- Technical knowledge of control system (DCS, SCADA, PLC, Safety & Security systems) is mandatory. Experience of Honeywell system will be preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong technical and integrative thinking skills to propose alternative solutions within and outside of Honeywell’s scope of supply.
- Ability to understand and relate to customer requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
- Proven experience delivering complete proposals for large projects, preferably with international exposure.
