Sr. DevOps Engineer

Role Description

• Support development and management of web / cloud infrastructure for multiple applications
• Research, assess, and implement new technologies to improve infrastructure and automation processes
• Contribute to development of automation systems for continuous integration and deployment
• Collaborate with developers to improve application scalability, reliability, and cloud-native aspects
• Monitor applications for abnormalities and proposes areas of improvement
• Work closely with other teams including software quality assurance and GIS security to ensure compliance
• Create and maintain infrastructure documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams
  

Skill Requirements

PRIMARY SKILLS (MUST HAVE SKILLS):

• In-depth knowledge of provisioning and managing cloud services, AWS preferred
• Proficiency with container runtimes and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Expertise in integrating tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, GithubActions, Artifactory etc.
• Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Awk
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and GitOps workflows
• Experience managing Linux servers in a production environment
• Understanding of logging, performance monitoring and performance tuning tools
• Strong understanding of distributed version control systems such as Git or Bitbucket
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to coach & mentor junior level engineers
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities
  

Secondary Skills (good To Have)

• Experience managing relational or NoSQL database servers
• Knowledge of enabling high-availability in cloud-native applications
• Understanding of security tooling and resources (i.e. Endpoint, Application, Scanning, Detection, Telemetry, Forensics, Operations)
• Experience with healthcare infrastructure and HIPAA compliance
  

Qualifications And Education Requirements

• Bachelor's / master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar field
• 6-8 years of relevant experience
